Shoulder Pain Treatment in Oviedo, FL

Reach without thinking

The shoulder trades stability for range, and it only works when the shoulder blade, mid-back, and rotator cuff all show up. When one slacks, the joint pinches, and reaching becomes a negotiation.

What Is Behind It

Most shoulder pain is a mechanics problem

Impingement, rotator cuff irritation, and that catch at the top of a reach usually come down to mechanics: a stiff mid-back, a shoulder blade that stopped rotating, and a cuff working overtime to hold the ball on the socket.

Care rebuilds the system: mobilize the mid-back and shoulder joints, release the overworked tissue with Graston and cupping, and strengthen the cuff and blade so the joint moves the way it was designed to.

  • Exam of the whole shoulder system, mid-back included
  • Joint mobilization and adjusting where motion is missing
  • Graston and cupping for the cuff and surrounding tissue
  • Cuff and scapular strengthening that makes it stick

Common Patterns

What we see walk in

01

The Pincher

Pain at the top of reaching or overhead work. Classic impingement mechanics, and very trainable.

02

The Thrower

Athletes and lifters with cuff irritation from volume the supporting muscles could not match.

03

The Stiffener

Shoulders that lost range after injury, surgery, or simply guarding too long, gradually shrinking your reach.

Common Questions

Shoulder pain, answered

Do I need an MRI for my shoulder?

Usually not to start. Exam findings guide most shoulder care; imaging enters when red flags or a lack of progress warrant it, and we are direct about when that is.

Is it a rotator cuff tear?

Cuff irritation is far more common than significant tears, and even many tears do well with conservative care. The exam, and honest reassessment as you progress, sorts this out.

Why does my neck factor into shoulder pain?

The neck and shoulder share nerves and muscles, and neck dysfunction often refers pain toward the shoulder. We examine both so we treat the actual source.

Can I keep lifting?

Usually yes, modified. We would rather adjust your training than park it, and the plan tells you exactly what to swap while things settle.
